Why is a Natura 2000 assessment important?<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h5>\n

A Natura 2000 assessment examines the potential effects of plans and projects on Natura 2000 sites and their conservation objectives. It is required for any activity that is likely to have a <\/span>significant effect on a Natura 2000 site and its conservation objectives.<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Based on the assessment, the competent authority must be able to ascertain that the proposed activity:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. will not adversely affect the integrity of the site;<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. complies with European Union nature conservation requirements;<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. can be lawfully approved and permitted.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
